Your
accommodation will be in a beautiful and typical 2 star hotel (Hotel Stadel)
run by my family. You will enjoy the most delicious Aosta Valley food prepared
by Mariella (my mother), and you must savour 'La Grolla' (Aosta Valley friendly
and very alcoholic coffee!) a speciality of my brother Maurizio and don't
forget to ask for Vittorio's (my father) famous hot chocolate. If
you want you can choose different accommodation, ie: 3 star, 4 star or apartments.
Monday we
go to Stafal where we take a 60 man telecabin up to Bettaforca. I will show
you the beautiful ski runs into Champoluc. At lunch time we stop in a typical
bar/restaurant overlooking the Val d'Ayas with views of the Matterhorn.
At 5pm our apres-ski will start.......
Tuesday I
will take you where on a clear day it is possible to see Malpensa Airport
in Milan! We will have wonderful views of the Off Piste areas WE WILL
EXPERIENCE on Friday... don't start panicking!!! Lunch of course will
be in a typical chalet and the apres-ski will start at
5pm as usual.
Wednesday is
your free day! You can go on your own to revisit the lovely places that
I showed you. Don't be too crazy! I will be waiting for you in the bar
at 5pm for a refreshing
beer! If you like cheeses and wines we can go to
visit my friend who makes the most gorgeous cheese in the valley. With
a nice glass of wine you can try various local cheeses and why not...
buy some at a very good price!
Thursday
we will ski together and I will start to show you some easy off piste areas.
FUN GUARANTEED!!! Arriving at the Guglielmina refuge (2980m) at 4pm where
we stay for the night. A few drinks whilst taking in the astounding view
and the off piste tracks for the following day. A hearty dinner with local
wine to follow and no doubt some fun & games sitting around the wood
burning stoves.
Friday is
our official off piste day! All day in fresh powder with lunch at Punta
Indren (3260m) and a chance to catch your breath! From Guglielmina refuge
to Stafal without touching a normal ski run... IT WILL BE GREAT!!!
Saturday more
off piste of course covering your favourite 'runs' of the previous days.
In the evening it is party time in the local bars... it is this that scares
me the MOST!
Sunday
is a relaxing day but if you have your plane late afternoon, why not ski
again
in the morning? The Weissmatten's ski runs are just 200m from the hotel
and include the Leonardo David's run, approved for the World Cup Circuit
and a fairly testing black to
finish on.
And
who knows you may also feel confident enough after your holiday to enter
our International Free Riders competition which is held in these very same
off piste slopes in late April each year. Ask me for further details.
